With the top-side of twenty photographers attending over the two days, the weekend spent at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, near Smarden in Kent, was, despite the dreadful weather forecasts, a resounding success....

Only eight months after the announcement of the D200, Nikon have surprised a few people with the announcement on the 9th August 2006 of the new Nikon D80, a successor to the very popular D70/70s, a camera that is a step up from their entry level D50. Here, Ian manages to get his hands on one.

As most of the people who know me on the site would agree, it is very unusual for me to get up and be out before 9am, some might even say 10am. Well on Monday I was up at 3am, yes you’re reading that right 3am and no it isn’t a typo!!!!

Well, Tony was there at -7.15. Phil not long afterwards. Dave and Jodie sometime before me, and I didn't get there until 10.45 or so! And that was just the photographers registered on this site! There were others....

Canon's announcement of the EOS 400D yesterday does seem to be somewhat of a kneejerk reaction to recent cameras produced by both Sony and Nikon.

Being little more than a 350D with a 10mp sensor in it, along with the nature of its announcement makes one think that Canon are running just a little scared!
