The first 'This is your Wildlife' event, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Kent Wildlife Trust, took place over the weekend and despite having to suffer scorching temperatures, glorious sunshine and a magnificent display of orchids, the event went off rather well!
We ran 'Masterclasses' on the morning and afternoon of each day, consisting mainly of folks asking questions and us answering them, demonstrating what we meant with a few very compliant orchids close by the paths! Age range and ability was as diverse as it could possibly have been, with participants from school age to retirement status using everything from basic compacts to quite sophisticated dSLR's. One of Marden Meadow's many Green Winged Orchids. Gladly, we can report that everyone went away happily having learnt something useful and convinced that their photography would have improved from the experience. The next venue for this 'roadshow' will be at the Pegwell Bay Country Park on the weekend of 14/15th June 2008 and anyone is welcome to come along. Booking is on the day at the KWT Welcome Tent, where a donation of £5 towards the Trusts funds should be provided for an hour and a half of a great learning experience! |
