Page 1 of 2 Here are the profiles of some of the people involved in the WildaboutKent Project Ian Andrews Ian Andrews Ian had a 25 year break from photography but had his interest re-awakened by digital some 5 years ago. Now, having caught up with all that modern technology has to offer, he can be found out and about regularly in the East of the region in his role as a freelance equipment tester and photographic journalist. Ian will take photographs of virtually anything and runs many of the workshops organised by the site. He also edits the monthly newsletters and has managed this website since October 2004. You will often hear him pleading for help with contributions in the form of articles and the like. More of Ian's images can be seen on WildaboutPictures.com. Any un-attributed pictures on this site are Ian's work. Contact him here. Fran French Fran French Fran has been an amateur most of her life, having been bought a Kodak Instamatic by her parents. Like many, her interest was rebooted by Digital. In 2003, Fran had an enforced 6 months on foot and realised the beauty of the countryside around her. She got more serious with her photography and now spends a considerable amount of her spare time photographing the local wildlife. In the near future she hopes to spend even more time building her portfolio and especially enjoys setting up her hide for bird photography. See more of Fran's work on her new website which is being developed.See Fran's own website here Shaun WakelenShaun is an IT professional by day and a keen amateur photographer the rest of the time. Living on the North Kent coast, Shaun is ideally placed to visit the many wetland sites as well as Woodland sites in the area. He is a keen contributor to the project. See more of his pictures in the Locations section under Elmley and Cromer amongst others. Shaun helps out with the website and he uses Nikon Cameras. More of Shaun's images can be seen here Nicholas Armitt Nick Armitt Nick has always had an interest in photography, regularly going to exhibitions, his favourite being the Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He finally decided to take the plunge in 2004 and started taking photographs. Purchasing a digital SLR he focused mainly on wildlife, having been inspired by what he had regularly seen in the BBC Wildlife magazine.Nick is originally from the outskirts of Manchester, just on the border of the Peak District National Park. He moved to London 5 years ago and finds his Photography a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of City life. Nick takes his photographs both in London's Parks and in the surrounding counties including Kent. You can see more of his images here and on WildaboutPictures.com Jill Batchelor Jill Batchelor Jill was born in Kent and always enjoyed taking pictures but it was not until digital came along that she started taking her photography more seriously. A new camera in March 06 inspired her to walk in some of the woodlands around Kent and the KWT website got her traveling the county as well as bringing her to this site. Jill freely admits to still learning, but she obviously has an eye for a good picture. In March 07, Jill got her first dSLR camera and is back to learning (rapidly) about a new set of buttons and bells. Jill can be contacted here.
